People will reproduce parts they feel they can sell in large volumes and make a profit on their efforts. It's a pretty major undertaking to make the tooling to recreate parts like that. And when there's literally thousands of them floating around on the used market, the prospect of getting $450 for one to cover their costs is pretty slim. If your's is in decent condition, not broken or all pitted up, it can be rechromed very nicely. Otherwise, it's asking Ilya or checking ebay or swap meets.

If you have one that's pitted and your thinking about "repairing" the pits before you send it DON'T - platers will strip your repairs and fix them theirselves then plate it - This is not to Make More Money it's to save them from bad repairs showing up after the work and having the customer coming back at them

I wouldn't be surprised if they tell you they're out of stock. It seems many times the vendors will continue listing parts long after they've run out of them. Let us know if you're able to get the parts. $100 is a lot cheaper than it would cost to have a pitted piece repaired.
Way back, when eBay first started I was able to buy a perfect complete set, everything, both sides with SS trim for something like $25. Now if a pitted set shows up they'll sell for $50-75, back when the economy wasn't in the tank I saw them sell for much more.
