Use a good quality oil like Rotella 5-40 full syn and you will not need any thing else unless your trying to address a sticktion issue

I've never been a big fan of "mechanic in a can" but I was having trouble with rough, galloping idle, low power and late shifts until my truck got up to 130* ECT or so. I tried the Rev-x and it made a big difference almost immediately. I was suprised it even shifted better. So I know it's possible for an oil additive to help if there is a problem. It is slipping back to it's old ways but the temps have been lower here also, so it's kinda hard to tell. Many guys have had good results with Hot-Shot Secret also. I think if I try anything else before actually fixing my problem I'll try somthing called Red Line break-in based on a post by our resident chemical engineer. The Marvel Mystery Oil is pretty thin stuff. I have seen it free up sticky lifters on tired gasoline engines that haven't been maintained well. I have always thought of it as a solvent more than a lubricant. with proper oil changes I dont think there's any need for it.
Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel can be pretty dry (oil-wise) so I use the Diesel Kleen as directed on the bottle. B5 bio-blend fuel is supposed to have enough lubricity to keep injectors happy without any additive, but I'm suspicious of what is really coming out of the pump so I think of the Diesel Kleen as insurance. Many people add somthing oily, from 2stroke oil (ashless), to motor oil, or even trans fluid.
In my opinion if your truck is in good mechanical condition you shouldn't need an oil additive, but a fuel addtive is a good idea.

I use a fuel additive called LDL with every fill up. It seems to help give me a small increase in fuel economy, it's also supposed to help keep things clean as well. Can't say much about it other than small increase in fuel economy.

For my oil, I swear by Rev-X. I am amazed at what this stuff does for my truck. The difference in my cold starts is night and day. Now when I start my truck it will run rough for maybe 2-3 seconds and smooth right out. It's expensive and the guys at the shop had to really convince me to try it but now I wouldn't be without it.

I concur. 6.0's shear the oil like no other engine I have ever seen. I change mine at 3k as well, and mine aren't free!!

For fuel I have run Stanadyne or Diesel Kleen in every tank since new. Also, I 'stack' it with Howe's in most tanks as well. Overkill I am sure, but it works for me. Hey Moe I sent you an email, let me know.

I also tried the Rev X and it didn't help. I ended up just replacing the injector.(#8)

google"lubricity additive study results diesel place" for info on fuel add. i now use opti lube great product, fast shipping, they include a pump with a gallon and a 16oz travel bottle 1to2oz of summer formula for 20gals. i can't remember cost but its not bad. i use to use diesel kleen but you can see where it scored, this is an old study so formulas may have changed.

for fuel, i only use the cetane booster from motorcraft. it was made for it and it works better than diesel kleen imho. i use conventional 15w40 from motorcraft and no probs.

she fires up within a second or 2 like she's never been turned off b4, and tats the first start. i've used diesel kleen as well. cold starts do matter to us diesel users.

synthetic 5w40 is the way to go for smoother engine operation. but it's all bout preference at the end of the day when u come down to it.

best of luck in ur choice! lol.

Here's a link to their site, you can see if you have a dealer near you or you can get it from them and I've seen it on ebay too.

REV-X Oil Additive | Diesel Fuel Additive | High Performance Oil

I use two bottles with every oil change.
