Need help disconnecting a driveshaft for towing

Happy New Year! The wife is finally letting me get the tranny rebuilt in my '93 F250 XLT 2WD 7.3 L IDI "Big Red" and I need to tow it about 100 miles. I don't have the manual and I can't find instructions for disconnecting the driveshaft. Please help. Thanks! -Rob in Atlanta

Just remove the 4 bolts at the rear joint at then at the read of the trans. The shaft will be free then. Be careful with ujoints you don't wanna drop and spill bearings out of them.

Its usually like a 1/2" or 13mm for the bolts also!

Thanks, Edgethis! So, this will free the drive shaft entirely and I should secure it in the bed or haul it somewhere else?

Yes the drive shaft should then be free. Bed is a good place. Maybe in the cab so it doesn't "walk" away.
