I'm sure if there IS a real problem with that Tekonsha controller, that they would really like to be able to find out what it is and fix it if it is their problem too.

Phil called them Monday and they would reimburse the receipt price, and they also sent a prepaid UPS box to send in the controller. Phil had the receipt and faxed it to them. They said a check would be cut on the 17th of the month and also they are sending him a new controller once the old is received. To expand, they said that in the latest firmware on the latest devices, there has been some issues. I gotta say, they back up their product. As Phil said and I will support, its a pretty good company that have interest in these issues. They could have just forgot about you and sent you on down the road.

I had heard a number of times now that they back up their products. Glad to see that they are still the stand up company that they've been in the past. I would never be afraid to purchase from their product line if I were to be in need.

I have only had the need of their help once and they found my problem to be NOT their problem, but they helped me fix it anyway!

Glad I mentioned it to you in this forum.

Just a question: when a company makes a RECALL for some thing that has been failing? are there any rules about that?

I think it is completely voluntary unless mandated by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Yep, and it takes a whole bunch of documentation before NHTSA will force a recall.
