loud rearend, shift fork question and ticking noise

Hey guys I just bought a 2003 f-150 xl supercab long bed with a 4.6L automatic tranny and manual shift 4wd. First off I'm pretty sure my 4wd shift fork is bad and was wandering if anybody had a write up with pictures and how to replace it? And second I have a ticking/chirping noise coming from the floor board area when driving but goes away around 55mph but when i let off the gas it comes back it almost sounds like a dry speedometer cable? And last my rearend makes a loud noise when I brake hard almost like something heavy is rolling in the bed of the truck but nothings in it. Any help would be awesome guys thanks!

This is a shot in the dark, but your 4WD shift linkage bushings could be worn out and letting the pieces of the linkage vibrate and bounce around on each other; causing the ticking/chirping noise you hear and not properly engaging 4WD which would seem like a bad shift fork.
As far as the braking noise goes, is it the same in forward and reverse, and does it change if you brake hard from 10MPH to 0 as opposed to 50MPH to 40?

Ok cool where exactly are those bushings located? If i grab my 4wd shift lever it deadens the ticking noise a little bit but the lever does vibrate pretty good. As for the noise it only happens when ihave to slam on my brakes for like a red light sounds like a big steel pipe rolling around in my bed.

If you look underneath your truck, you will see where the shifter comes through the floor and connects to a linkage that goes to the tcase. There is a bushing at every moving joint on that linkage.

This is just a guess, but that rolling noise almost sounds like you have a broken fuel tank baffle.

Ok thanks I will give that a try. I was going to try changeing my rear diff oil and see if that makes a difference.
