I have a 1962 unibody vin/ f10JH206883 with data plate in glove box wb 114 color L model f-100 trans A Axel 11 114 hp @ 3600 rpm. I think it is pretty much original except it is now green and white. It looks like a 223 straight 6 with 3 on the tree. Is trans code A a light duty 3 speed manual and what is axel code 11. Also does color L mean Holly green only. also the cover around the speedometer and gauges is white. Would it originally have been green or chrome. I only found this forum a few days ago and love it. Thanks for any info. John
okay, lets start with F10"JH" J=223 I6 and H= built in Lorain Ohio. "206883" built in Febuary 1962, Color L= Dark Green Trans A=3 speed standard. Axle code 11= 3.70 to 1 gears, 9 inch rear. white would be the correct color for the dash speedo if it's not a custom cab truck, custom cab's have a chrome piece.
Thanks for the help. Just trying to learn as much as possible about the truck. I just started working on it. I am about to order a shop repair manual. Besides this forum are there any books, magazines or articles you would reccommend before I begin any serious repairs to the truck. I just tuned it and got the lights working. Compression on the cylinders is between 82 and 100. I plan on keeping the truck close to original and start on the brakes so I can drive it a little and then try to deal with the body work and rust. Thanks again. John

F10JH206883 should be August of 1961 assembly date, my database has you having the oldest 1962 Unibody so far that I have recorded. The first built being 205001, that makes your truck 1,882 built for 1962. congratulations
Rob
