What would an adequate replacement for a C1 suffix switch? I have no idea if it is a one or two switch. The inside mechanism that connects the terminals is missing since the switch came apart.

Thanks

I am in need of one of these wiper switches,,ole fart Jimmy

(sigh) Since the numbers suffix is missing, how can you say that?

There are FIVE different C3TB-17A553 ID ENGINEERING numbers:

C3TB-17A553-A .. C3TB-17A553-B .. C3TB-17A553-E .. C3TB-17A553-F.. C3TB-17A553-G

These ID ENGINEERING numbers cross reference to THREE different wiper switch part numbers.

Marked with ID engineering number: C3TB-17A553-G = Ford part number: C3TZ-17A553-G .. Single Speed Wiper Switch-5 terminals (Motorcraft SW-722) / Obsolete

Applications: 1963/66 F100/600 & N600 / No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

A year or so ago, FTE member 65GH needed one of these switches. Just like today, no one had any

After some research, it was determined that C3UZ-17A553-C (1963/66 Econoline single speed-5 terminals/marked C3UB-17A553-C) will work in place of C3TZ-17A553-G.

There are 5 of these switches available NOS / If interested, will type the sources.

This is the THIRD time you've typed this question on this topic over the past two days in 2 different forums.

I responded to the one in the Large Truck forum.

No one had this switch NOS 1/06/2012 (post 12 in this thread), no one has any at this time either.

I tried to warn you...

But, don't go. If you read the posts again nobody is being mean to you. NumberDummy has 56,000+ posts and is super helpful to everyone on here, but probably doesn't like repeating himself too much when it can easily be avoided...I could tell that from reading posts before I ever typed anything. He likes to use emoticons, colors, bolding and uppercase, but if you don't put any weight on those attributes then he's just a normal grumpy old guy like the rest of us.

If the parts are or aren't available NOS he's the guy to let you know.

You're best hope now is a used switch. No better place to find used parts for 1961-1966 Ford trucks than right here. But, good used parts from these trucks are almost as tough to find as new ones. I find when I buy used parts they are often in about the same shape as the used part I already had in my hand, which could be unserviceable.

I don't have a problem and I'm sure that TA455HO doesn't either, but when you ask a question on a particular topic, you should only ask for it once by creating a new thread for it.

When you asked this question in the Large Truck forum, I responded and gave you the info. Then I said please type further questions in the 1961/66 forum.

You did create a new thread in this forum asking for this switch, but you also this thread (its last response was typed in post #16 on 7/7/2012) asking for this switch again.

The thing is, others may not know that you've typed this question three times.

Some members won't see a response by me, so...will refer you to me, because over the past 8 years...I've located more obsolete parts for peeps than all the other members of FTE (595,000+) combined!

I think that these are some of the causes/reasons why cs65 is off here and others have not offered help/parts on the FTE its hard to sell a used part and have the buyer happy with some part that is 50 years old
and im happy I have only a few parts in the shop to get rid of

I know Don personally as he's stayed at my residencia twice.

First time was 6/2008 to attend the F100 Western Nationals truck show held in Anaheim. Second time was in 2011 when he came to LA LA Land to buy a particular car.

I know that Don is ill...and while he hasn't mentioned what the illness is, I believe that if he doesn't take care of himself, it will be fatal.

Sorry to bug you about this again but I need a wiper switch for my 1963 Camper Special M100 (Mercury but same as F100 as your probably aware. I see where someone said they can be opened and cleaned. I'll try that first but my question is since they don't make them anymore is there such a thing as a universal switch? If so, who might carry them. LMC has them but you have to buy the whole kit which is way more than I need. Any advice would be appreciated. Put the truck back on the road yesterday but with rainy BC weather not must use still spring. I'd rather not wait. Thanks in advance.

I just took my 62 F350 dump truck for a ride the other day. Started him up and the wipers were running. Went to shut them off, but they already were, according to the switch. Sheesh.
