Nitto Trail Grapplers on V10 Ex? Any long term mileage reports?

Hi. Looking to put 285/70-16E Nitto Trail Grapplers on my 2000 4X4 with no lift. I do not tow at all to speak of, but I was curious if anyone has used them primarily on pavement and what kind of wear mileage you are getting. I have read these forums, but most guys are towing and are getting confused with TERRA Grapplers, NOT the TRAIL Grapplers I am looking at.

Thanks for your input, guys and gals.

Had them on my truck. Biggest pile of **** tires I've ever owned. Traction sucks on everything. They lasted 32,000 on my truck before they started showing belts.

Had great luck on bfg mud terrain km2's and bfg all terrain's. My buddy got 90,000 miles out of his bfg al terrains.

Well why dont you explain the diffrence between the two? Stop the confuision before it starts. I have read a story on them but ocouldnt remember enough about them to say. And i dont personally know anyone that runs them.

They are just two different tires. The Trail Grapplers are a newer more aggressive tread than the Terra Grapplers. The Trails are supposed to perform like mud tires with wear like an all terrain. The terra grapplers apparently just plain suck and don't wear for anything.

The trail grapplers are mud tires, and nobody buys a mud tire wondering about mileage. They always wear out quickly.and if they will be on pavement most of the time, why even get a mud tire? You should buy the tires that are designed for the type of driving you do

You are right, they are more oriented towards mud. But not as aggressive as their Mud Grappler. They are supposed to give much better wear than the Mud and Terra Grapplers. I have read mileage reports with a huge variance in miles. I appreciate the advice, but I prefer the look of an all terrain tire and the versatility to drive offroad in a wide variety of condtions without the worry of getting stuck. Plus I just think this tires look sweet.

Thanks again for the opinion and for responding.

Bfg mud terrain km2's. #1
Mine have no road noise, wear is minimal so far. Haven't gotten stuck in the mud yet. Big improvement from my nitto trail grapplers.

Why you wanting a 285/70/16 instead of a 285/75/16?

tires

Well, i dont lnow where you are located, But i have been for the most part born and raised in Idaho. So unless u live o. BOISE, you have to have a good "tough" tire no matter what you drive. New pickups and suv's here in eastern Idaho anyways come stock with the all terrain. Just mainly because u never know what sorta road you will be driving on. I couldnt say for sure what the most popular tire is, but i know i see a lot of the bfg all terrain running around. The cooper a/t are another common one. I have slways been a fan of Big O Tires personally. They are just a tire store chain in case you have never heard of them. They sell all the brands off course, but i have stuck with their name brand tire. I currently am runninga set of Big O 285x75/15's Bigfoot X/T's. And if I had to choose what they looked like, i would have to say the BFG M/T KM2's. But i am a lot like u, i tend to go with what looks cool. But thats not all bad here. I dont drive a lot, but i do tow a 29' camptrailor in the summer. A lottle hyway driving. Some in town stuff. Mud, rocks, sand and snow all thrown in there. So far i havd had these tires for almost 2 years, but have only actually put 4k on the tires. But those are some pretty harsh miles. i expect to only get about 30k out of these before I tear them up. But my next pur hase will be the Goodyear Wrangler MTR w/ kevlar. They have 3the differnt tread patterns on each tire and were rated #1 tire of 4 wheeler Mag. Aced all the tests and were still rated a 50-60k tire.

I had the Goodyear mtr's on my f150. Great tire. Loved it. No road noise traction was good. Long lasting tire.

Goodyear DuraTrac. Forget the nitto junk. My good years are the best tire I have ever owned.
