Stolen Tailgate

Sometime during the night 1/03/12 my tailgate was stolen, i usually keep it locked, but of course the one time I don't someone stole it.

When the police came out to take my statement he told me that mine was the 3rd one that day to be reported.

Make sure you double check the lock on your tailgates!

What a PITA
You would think that there would be a lead on that with that many tailgates gone

Dorito,

Bummer. Where are you located? Big city or small town?

Same thing happened a few years back on my old truck. What are you driving? I ended up getting a lock that goes inside the tailgate so anytime I locked the doors the tailgate locked. No forgetting there... Unless you forget to lock the truck, which I do not.

**Edit** I just saw you drive a 2010 F250... So where are you located?

I live in a small town just north of Houston, I have a 2010 F-250. I made a call to the dealership to see if it is even worth claiming on insurance, after about 45 minutes of adding he came up with $4700 without paint!!

Mine has the step and the camera in it. That PITA *** step is $1000.00 alone.

I saw one on ebay for around 600.00., here's one in Houston for 500.00 with step, may even match your color and vin.

2009- **09 F-250 tailgate W/STEP**

and another for 650 2011- F250 SuperDuty Tailgate with Step

I know how it feels to walk out and see it missing, not a good feeling. Hope this helps a little.

I appreciate the links, I will call and see if they are still avaliable, i wonder if you can get the camera from Ford? I have become very dependant on it. I can hook my boat up by myself with one try everytime

Hose clamp around the sliding hinge on the right. That will slow them down at least for the $0.50 it will cost you.
