Radiator hoses for '54 F-100 w/351W

I am using my stock V/8 radiator with a mid 70's 351 Windsor engine in my '54 F-100. Can anyone running this combination tell me the part numbers for upper and lower radiator hoses? I'm sure I could eventually get it with "trial & error" but this would be much quicker!! Thanks, Steve

My 2c, you'd be better off using the "trial & error" method. To find someone that has your same setup built and positioned exactly perfect as yours so the measurements are the same is going to be nearly impossible. Better odds would be finding the needle in the haystack. You can go with the universal flex hoses, but if you prefer something cleaner, the tried and true method is to bend up some old wire coat hangers to the desired shape and take those to your friendly part store. The right guys will let you compare your wires to the hoses in stock for you to find the matching shape.

Good luck.

Also make sure to measure the O.D.'s of the upper/lower radiator necks, thermostat housing and waterpump...for the new hoses.

I have used the "wire templates" for so long on the trucks I build that our parts store guy can find them for me now. I bend up my wires, mark each end and give sizes. The delivery kid picks them up and they send back the hoses I need. By far THE best way to find needed hoses. I use bent wire for all my steel lines I bend and also any angles I need to build into a bracket or panel. Handy stuff.

Steve, just a heads up to remember that you will need to use a older 7lb. rad cap rather than the newer 15lb cap on your stock radiator.

Thanks again for the info. Old Dan, I have a mid 70's 351W but my inlet & outlet looks to be exactly what you are showing in your pictures. I dont have the serpentine set-up, still v-belts and normal flow water pump. Thanks for the numbers, Steve
