is there a curtin kind of battery i need for this beast lol im looking now and they say class 65 i think, im running to advanced cause i had to call tripple A i was stranded in the middle of nowhere this morning truck wouldent start
Most part store computers show that our trucks need two 750cca but IMO that's not enough
I agree completely. I can't remember the CCA on mine but I made sure it was over 750. I was living in the cold high desert and needed some extra umph. The ones I bought were the highest rated available at NAPA. I bought them because some folks here relayed to me that they were a good choice for the money.
Hey brother, I'll admit that I'm a creature of habit and I believe that batteries are not worth going cheap on! I'm on my second set of Interstates. The first set in this truck lasted me over 7 years (MTP-65's are advertised for 85 months). Probably the only reason I swapped them out was because I don't feel comfortable keeping a battery over 5 years, but these batteries are great! If you do your battery maintenance several times a year and don't abuse them and keep them clean, then the $250+ for 2 MTP-65's (850 CCA's & 1000 CA's) will be money well spent! I always change batteries in sets so they are equal strength, plus it gives me a "warm fuzzy" too. I've drawn them down pretty low numerous times (ie-- trouble shooting and fighting with bad glow plugs at the end of the work day when I'm trying to get started on a freezing cold night) but if you put them on a battery charger right away instead of letting your alternator charge them up, then they will take care of you! I won't skimp on batteries, oil, or tires. Good luck! Interstate Batteries Results Page - Mega-Tron Plus 65 Automotive Battery 85 months 850 CCA
