I have a 1996 F150 4x4 with tow package but it only has a 4 post hookup installed and I need a 7. There is a unconnected 3 wire plug there beside the 4 plug with a blue wire ant 2 black I think. Is this the other 3 I need for my seven hookup? I know ford most likely makes a connecter to hook here to add a 7 pin but I dont want to pay ford's prices I was hopeing for a Hoppy or something.
Can anyone tell me what this 3 wire plug is and what the wire color is and how to install a 7 pin. Also isn't the gray plug under the ash tray my brake hook up and is this all thats need to be plugged in for elec. brakes?

 

I looked and the wires are blue, orange and black and are right bside the plug where the 4 pin is plugged from the factory.

 

check your local wal-mart, they sell connectors thatplug into the factory harnesses.
