Angry Check engine light on

Hello: I have a 98 F150 STX with a 4.2. Last week the check engine light came on. I had it check at AutoZone an they said it was a large fuel emissions leak and told me to replace my fuel cap. Well that didn't work! I have disconnected my battery 2 times since then and the light stays off for about 4 to five days and then comes back on. Does anyone have any comments about this? Thanks

Don't listen to Autozone would be my advice and get an AutoXray and test your truck yourself. Mine was just an O2 sensor that needed replaced and dont let anyone tell you only Ford sells the front two they are just Bosch sensors available all over!!
