Bought a radiator off of my media blast guy (man he has come through so many times!!) and took it to the shop to have it cleaned out. Well, they told me it needed a new core so they took out the old 3 row and put in a new 4 row.

It looks like a new radiator!

Also, I was able to get the bolts, springs and such for the radiator support and installed it - I will have to find the bolts and washers to get the radiator on it now.

I was able to get some front drums and the brake cylinders - so those are my next project.

I am still looking for a clutch and pressure plate - the one I have it worn out and they are a little pricey....

I am hoping to have the engine fired up in a couple of weeks!

Stop at the shop for an hour or two to slap in the radiator and put on the exhaust manifolds:

I have hoses and belts on order, and will grab some wires this weekend.

We still have to rebuild the carb and will take another look at the distributor.

Getting there!

Words today - pics tomorrow!

I am in the process of leaving one job and starting another (work - not actual things on the truck!) - so I will have a little over a week to dedicate to the truck!!

Spent a few hours today getting the distributor rebuilt and put into place - put the ignition coil in with the bracket and then put in the exhaust tube into the front of the intake manifold - as I wanted to get it in before the belts go on tomorrow.

I will pick up the lower radiator hoses tomorrow and install, grab the spark plug wires and hopefully rebuild the carb so I can get it installed for good.

It's the little things on the engine!!

I am looking to have the exhaust completely done next week. Still waiting on the clutch and pressure plate... wanna start this baby up already!!!

So put the plugs on, the belts and the oil canister.

I have the lower radiator hoses cut and in place and bought the upper pipes to connect the radiator to the engine BUT I need to get the trans in first and get the correct engine/trans height and then temporarily put on the inner fender wells to make sure the radiator and bracket are sitting as they would if/when the car is complete - THEN I will put the upper pipes in with the correct length(s) of hose.

I have the carb in 100 pieces and will grab a carb rebuild kit tomorrow so I can put the carb on and leave it.

I need a few more things before I can start thinking about firing her up - but i have all week off to work on it!!

Great progress!!

Looking at your pictures, the radiator support is mounted in the correct place for the V8.

Yep - they had it in the 'straight 6' position when I got this - so it was just moving the bracket up to the next holes!!

Does your hood have the correct air dam? The is also two positions for the hood air dam to go with the position of the radiator. There at two different dams, a wider one for the six and a narrower on for the V8.

I believe so... if not - I guess I will have to find one!!
Won't know until the body work is nearing completion.

6 cyl is approximately 33.5" wide and V8 is approximately 31.5" wide. I have several of either. Let me know if you need one.

Actually - it should be the other way around:
Since the 6 Cyl is closer to the front of the hood (where it gets a little narrower) it would be 31.5"

I just remeasured mine and it is for a V8 (33.5")

Thanks for pointing it out - I totally forgot which one I had!
