Anyone have any input on these Prestone products? A search didn't turn up much.

 

From what I read so far on the flushing of the 6.0 L Power Stroke Diesel, all recommendation is to use CV-9 from Ford Dealer or Restore or Restore Plus. I am still looking for a supplier of Restore plus in my area. CV-9 dealer wants $33 a bottle, and you need 2 bottles to flush.

 

Yeah, thanks I did VC9 just looking for a cleaner vice rust removal. I can't find restore anywhere. Thanks!

 

I would go with Restore and Restore Plus, you should be able to get it at any International dealer. VC9 is similar to Restore Plus, it is an acidic cleaner that removes rust/scale and preps the system for the new coolant. Before you do that, you want to use an alkaline cleaner like Restore to remove silicate sludge.

Prestone products are VERY mild compared with the Restore products; they do have both an alkaline and acidic cleaner, but I don't remember which is which.
