So I need a bunch of my zombie destruction devices on board, a way to make the Ex amphibious for the water crossings, and a way to fly it if the water is a problem? I think I will just go get the LARC thats parked at the military museum 11 miles away from me and drive the Ex into it. I'll be loaded with all of the supplies from my camper to be able to cook since it is nice to have food. That will solve the amphibious problem and with the boat hull design I wouldn't worry about anything getting in too easily when I am on land.

That pic was before they repainted and tuned it up, and yes, the tires are over 8 feet tall. I'll see if I can find some better pics.

Also Seagulls and any bird for that matter are going to be a problem. I do believe this will be unlikely, so assuming no transfer to other species, zombies will be unable to have buoyancy control, so zombies on the bottom of the lake or ocean are not my concern as pressure and dissolving tissue should neutralize the problem after a short time.
Oh I agree, a zombie wandering the bottom of an ocean aint gonna be a problem for long, especially away from shore. But! They still don't drown, and that's just wrong!

Really though, it's the lakes that worry me. If you were holding up on a houseboat, it'd be like not knowing if there's a monster "hiding under the bed" so to speak.

I can see underwater cameras will be needed. But do we need to worry about whats on the bottom when the bottom is over 100 feet away?

I'll be thinking of you guys while cruising the oceans on my cruise liner complete with pool, casino, hot tub, and full kitchen. I wonder what will be on TV?

what you see is all i have and all that is out there as the ex got sold after katrina and has no longer been seen after that .. . if you look closely the roof rack ( top portion) is suspended in the air . using the ladder ( one on each side) are actually mounted to the frame under the truck and then right behind the drivers door is a tube coming down and that attaches to the frame as well
everything is rhino lined and so is the roof ..the last pic shows the rear top mount as you see it is all bolted on so it is completely removable . the roof rack holds like 500+ pounds he used heavy duty stuff. if you wanted to make one just like it go to a metal fab place with these pics and ask .. i used to have the drawings back in 06 but that computer got destroyed ( damn kids)

Too bad about the drawings.

I am my own metal fab place so I'll start making measurements and thinking about it. Then give it a go this summer. I think it will be fun.

also the rear ladders are mounted so the rear vent windows can open and not hit the ladder

I wish I had seen these pics before I built my roof rack as I would have used their support system instead of mounting it to the roof.

I guess there is always time to modify it.
Here are some more pics of my zombie retreat vehicle.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/53700883@N06/6643131459/" title="2012-01-05 14.37.34 by 1952 Ford F-1, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7163/6643131459_796dc128bd.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="2012-01-05 14.37.34"></a>

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/53700883@N06/6643131907/" title="2012-01-05 14.39.10 by 1952 Ford F-1, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7009/6643131907_1ab2547a34.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="2012-01-05 14.39.10"></a>
Enough room to pull the Excursion into it so I have a smaller vehicle for supply and recon runs and still fit a fuel trailer in it. (there are 2-500 gallon fuel trailers within 200 yards of where the LARC is parked)

I figure I could build a deck over the cargo area for the tents and living space.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/53700883@N06/6643131701/" title="2012-01-05 14.38.24 by 1952 Ford F-1, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7143/6643131701_22856796cb.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="2012-01-05 14.38.24"></a>

Just have to make sure none of my party goes overboard, I don't think they would fare well against those props.
And if anyone is really interested I was told the guy who owns it will sell if for he right 6 figure offer. Too bad I can't seem to win the Lottery, lol.

Got this email from Cheaper Than Dirt this morning!

"The Zombie Apocalypse Is Coming - Stock Up Now"

"Zombie Max - Just in case!

Be PREPARED – supply yourself for the Zombie Apocalypse with Zombie Max ammunition from Hornady! Loaded with PROVEN Z-Max bullets... yes PROVEN Z-Max bullets (have you seen a Zombie?). Make sure your "bug out bag" is ready with nothing but the best!

Disclaimer: Hornady Zombie Max ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady Zombie Max ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady Zombie Max ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!
"

Talk about timing, eh?
