I hope this doesn't break any rules. Just curious what everyone is celebrating the new year with? Schlafly's Coffee Stout here. Cheers

No you didn't break any rules...I'm a Budweiser man myself...

At the moment, the wifey is trying to beat me into drinking home made eggnog.

I'm skeered...

I understand about the home egg nog,....helpful tip,...add some bourbon to it and that will kill any unwanted salmonella issues.

My recipe for egg nog:

Store bought egg nog
bourbon
baileys irish creme
Almond flavor liqueur
ice

Mix in blender to your taste and fire up the blender.
pour frothy concoction into glass and enjoy.

Warning: This drink is not conducive to weight lose or sobriety.

Depends on which version..."adult" or kid friendly. Since I don't drink...I'm always the designated driver, which means I never pay for my drinks when we're out on the town.

For new years I had some vodka and cranberry. Tonight I will probably have a natural light can. One or two beers a day prevents kidney stones you know! lol

Playing catch up on this one but I have been on the wagon for about 1 year as of Jan 1st 2012 but I lean over the edge every so often.

Back in the day I drank enough Jack Daniels to pay the monthly elec bill and a cover alot of pay cks at the distillery, and have bought and drank enough Coors Light to overflow the Hoover Dam back in my rodeo days.

I have wasted enough Saturdays to never drink again, but every once in a great while its a JD and leaded coke, or enough white russians to be fluent in some foreign language when I quit drinking. lol

I am usually a Jim Beam guy myself I mix it with root beer. I know it sounds weird but it tastes great. I was at a buddy's and he had Svetka brand vodka pretty good stuff. Mixed it with ocean spray though which kinda ruined it for me cuz I'm with pintoches i like the no sugar added sour tasting cranberry juice. My beer has always been natty light. I have really cut back in the last year. I was starting to wonder how many vehicles I was gonna go through before I quit smashing them up while drinking. Looking back I am so lucky to never have been hurt or have hurt someone else.

The sacrifices of the few to help the many

I've said the same about Coca-Cola...used to be the fulled loaded stuff, but according my wife the nurse (who of course is really a "doctor") I needed to switch to the unleaded stuff if I wanted to avoid a diabetic coma. I couldn't even begin to guess at the number of 12oz cans I've put down over the years. Never really liked the taste of beers, vodkas, wines or rum....even on my 21st birthday I was the guy sober driving everyone home. Though I did learn that night the advantages of a hammered girlfriend

I hear diet drinks have "aspartame" which is even worse for you. I remember a 8 pk of Miller ponies and cheap beer Wiedemann, Shaffer, Blatz and being able to buy beer in
Oklahoma at 18.

And 3.2 Sunday beer yuck....I sacrificed alot of dollars/marks in Germany with a BAD JD habit, I never could get along with German beer, but I could the "frauleins".

I have drank Korean soju in Korea and real Italian Ouzo and recently Lithuanian Absinthe (green monster) very potent stuff.

Jeremiah Weed Sweet tea flavored vodka, with red diamond sweet tea mixed in, AWESOME.

But for the most part I have quit, and speaking of quiting I am at 3 months and 3 days of cold turkey NO Copenhagen.
