My 1994 F150 project. Soon to be FE powered!

So I have this old truck (1994 F150 300 6 Automatic) that the motor has gone out in:

And I have this motor I built a few years ago just sitting around:

It is a mild .060 over 390 with forged internals and the entire Edelbrock performer RPM package. I also have a newly built c-6 transmission with a new TCI 2000 RPM stall converter.

I am in the process of pulling the old motor out now to install the new motor! I have been researching all that I can find about this swap and it seems to be doable with what parts I have laying around.

What do you all think about my dare to be different project?

That is a really clean looking truck!

A 390 will take some modifications to properly work in that 94, but I can't wait to see the progress.

Work!

I know it will but I figured that since work is slow this winter why not? LOL I have 2 spare parts trucks to pick through and my shop is right next door to a auto parts store. I have several other vehicles to drive so I am not in a big hurry and am going to take my time and try and make it look like a factory install.

Here is another pic of one of my old service trucks. I still have it and it still runs great with 230,000 miles on it.

That is one of the reasons I am doing it!LOL

I will take pictures along the way and post them as I go. The only one I found had to use a rear sump oil pan and pickup off of a 4 WD truck but he was able to use the perches off the 6 cylinder. We will see what I have to do to make it fit when I finish getting the 6 cylinder out this week!

I love FE's, had a lot of fun with my ol' 66 pickup.
But, what are you gonna do for a trans/transfer case?
The stock one won't bolt up, and there's nothing I know of that will work that still has overdrive.

I'm just curious, what made you choose to use a Ford Edsel engine instead of a crate engine from Ford Racing?
