Sure has been quite around here lately; guess it's the holidays.

Maybe I spoke too soon...here we are almost 5 days into the new year and I've only managed to work one. Granted it's nice to get paid not to work...I'd rather be working since I'm not at the house. All I can say from here out...Thank you Lord for guarantee (40 hr pay if I don't work it).

Could have sworn I posted in here the other day.

Friday I gotta go south of Ozark to look at a truck a fella wants to use as a trade for my 3/4ton. Its an 80-86 f150 short bed 2wd..... Off the top of my head about all I can use is the rear axle & cab parts for the 1ton. Said something was wrong with the carb, which I dont want to mess with. Something I dont want or need. Now if it was an 87-91 then I would want to keep the frame but thats a different story.

That fellas post about looking for a mechanic around Hot Springs reminded me that I pic up 2 side jobs in February or March. One of the drivers at work wants me to start servicing & working on his pickups. Then my friend that has the 2.5ton & 5ton trucks wants me to work on them.

WOW!!! Thought I had owned some shatty trucks over the years but WOW!! There isnt a straight piece of steel on it, well maybe the rear dealer step bumper. The carb is in pieces. EGR valve is flat out missing. Appears that something was on fire at one time cause there is burnt loom, wire & black crap on the top front of the motor. Wires are so so butchered. Grill, well the whole front end (plastic) is trash. The 2 old fellas (was over at the buyers friends house) keep rambling on how well it ran & sounded.

On the plus side, it would be a straight frame for my F100 & has the ball joint front end. Built April 1984, 300I6, 3spd on the column, 8.8 rear axle. All the glass but the windshield is good. some of the inside trim is good. Turned the motor over a little by hand so it isnt locked up. Im thinking strip it, keep the rolling chassis & misc. parts. Try & sell the motor/trans. Scrap the rest. Now to try & come up with an amount of money to tell him he needs to add.

Now if I cant sell the '82 I will strip & part it out. Turn the frame/bed into a trailer.

Also went & looked at some sheep, oh I mean non-gas-powered-lawnmowers, today.

Evening gentlemen, this nice weather has temped me into riding when I'm home. Went for a short ride (FSM to Alma & back) this afternoon. Some moron in a late '70s/early '80s Chebby half-ton must have thought I was racing him when I opened the throttle up leaving town. And I'm sure he's telling his inbreed buddy (that was riding with him) "boy we sure smoked that dude on the motorcycle". I guess I'm a wuss since I didn't trying to keep up, let alone out run him. Or is it a sign of getting older and not needing to go as fast as I can all the time?

So he only drove it on Sundays to church, and dinner afterwords?

Nope. Neither him or his friend ever drove it. Yet both say its a good running motor... other than the carb.

Yip, 29-16...pretty good game considering how bias the talking heads were. They'd talk about AR players from time to time...but you could clearly tell they were KSU fans.

I dont care for football anymore. Watched around half the season when I went off to college & the USC or what ever game did it in for me. Plus I was about drunk & helping change a clutch in a honda in the dorm parking lot.

In other news, we got a new dog today. Half Doberman & half Husky with a possibility of a bit of wolf.
