Had a similar thing happen. I was fishing on a bank and I cast too far. The lure, (a medium Kastmaster), got stuck in a small tree. Not wanting to go across the creek to go get it, I just yanked on it until all of a sudden, I heard a whistle and something hit the top of my hand. One point of the treble book was completely lodged in my hand. No way I was pulling it out from the way it came. The barb was holding it fast. I pushed the hook the rest of the way through, crushed the barb down, and pulled the hook back out. Kept fishing after that.

Several years ago, a good friend had a nearly fatal bout of cancer. He had been an avid fisherman for his 71 years, so when he was finally strong enough we got him back out on the lake. The first time out, a wild cast resulted in him hooking his partner through the ear. The second time out, another wild cast resulted in the front hook of a topwater bait through his partner's upper lip and the rear hook embedded in his chin. He'd wired his mouth shut!
I don't know if anything happened the 3rd trip. Nobody that I know was willing to get in the boat with him for a few weeks.
