If I'd been the one laying down the cash, and was told I was getting a two-speed Powerglide instead of the four-speed Hydro, I'd have been, shall we say, "peeved"!
.... Or maybe I'd have waited until "next year" to buy it altogether.
But it would be about another ten years before I would be driving anything, so it's kinda' moot.

Copied from the Excursion section.
Had a great Memorial day, spent with my family at a car show raising money for vets.
The weather called for showers and sun later in the day. I thought the showers had passed as it started to dry up as we headed to the mall it was at. Well after getting a hot dog it started raining pretty good, so good in fact we put the tops up on the cars. The sun did finally break through and they had a great crowd there. This event was put on by the local Corvette club and they did a fine job.
the rain
After it cleared up.
One of the local news stations took an interest in the '56 Bel-Air
This guy took best Vette and Best in show, it's a '57 with all new running gear/suspension out of a newer ZO6

yup.
i was at a car show last year. a guy pulled in with a drop dead gorgeous "T" bucket.
i was looking it over until he opened the hood and i saw the 350 in it.
i said what a shame and walked away. the owner and a few others asked what does that mean in a nasty tone.
i replied you ruined a beautiful car by putting a pos engine in it.
a blind, one handed, retarded monkey can make a chevy 350 run and sound decent.
what would you all say if i put a 302 ford engine in a chevy?
they all got mad and left me alone for the rest of the show, which was fine with me.
