The SF Bay is not so bad to Sail unless you get caught in the shipping Channel with a very Large ship or Barge headed your way
, We had a 36' sail boat out went under the Golden gate once, hit what is called the Potato Patch the Wife and crew lost there Lunch over the side
so we turned and headed for Calmer waters. If your boat is not at a 45 deg angle your just not sailing

Has anyone else ever seen the Mothball Fleet in Suisun Bay? That's the one by my grandfather's old house. I think it's still being used for reserve ships but the quantity of them has been reduced by quite a bit. I'd post a picture to keep up with the thread but it's difficult on my phone...

I think we discussed this a few months back. I've driven right by there a couple times over the last few weeks. In fact, I'll be driving over the Benicia Bridge again tomorrow morning on my way down to Hollister. Not sure I'll be able to grab any pics as I pass the Fleet as I'll be driving solo and I'd rather concentrate on my driving and fending off the idiots in the other cars as I cross the bridge...
