Morning Pat! I got the cab off yesterday...........

 

Hey, great! Where are you going to cut it at? Hey, did you get that PM about the guy with the lock cylinders? Thought maybe you might have a few of those laying around.

 

I think I'll just cut the whole corner off, and you can use what ya want. Can you see pics this morning? I took a couple.......

I got your PM, but only have complete doors ( a bunch!) I don't really want to cannibalize a good door just for a couple of locks..............

 

If you can put them on here as attachments, I can see them. Or, I can send you my email, and you can send them that way!

I understand about the locks, better to keep them with the doors!

The passenger side looks great. Only a little surface rust. The drivers side some idiot cut out the center and BENT it up for some bizarre reason, but looks like you could bend it back and re-weld it............


I think I'm going to cut the whole cab into repair pieces that could be shipped cheaply, and I think I'll do the same to the bed. All the places that rust out where you live are in great shape, and could help somebody else out!

 

What is that thing they attached to it? I can work with those, they are in waaay better shape than the ones I have! If you can cut them about where I put the yellow line, that's about what I need for each side.

 

I can do that! Would you like me to sand blast them and prime them first?....................lol

 

No, that okay Don!LOL! I need to call my buddy out in Kearney, Ne, and see if he'd be interested in any parts. He's in the middle of his 56 build, so I don't know if he wants to spend any on his 69 right now.

 

This cab has the SS trim around the drip rail, not one dent in the whole top, and it has the optional cargo light on the back of the cab! I think I'll save the whole top, and cut the door sills, etc, into sections. I'll stick all the repair parts back in my parts room, and save for the future.

I'm gonna try and cut the cab sections out in the next couple of days and send pics of the parts to ya.

 

That'll work, bud. I'm going to put a late model cab light on mine, like the one that's on my Super Duty, with the 3rd brake light. I think you saving that stuff could really help out someone restoring one of these. And, you could make a little cash out of it also!

The money doesn't really mean much to me. I just hope someone could get the help they need to keep more of these "rolling piles of misery" on the road a little longer............lol
