welding ifs front axle

is it possible to weld an ifs front axle on 87 f250 4x4 to keep it from flexing we use this truck for sled pulling only in pure stock class the ifs toes in really bad when weight comes off the front not letting the tires keep good contact with the track thanks.

if you weld the axle, it will become a solid front axle. since there was never a solid axle stock in a 87 F-250, it will no longer be a pure stock truck.

thats true but the rules are pretty lax in the class hardly any of the trucks are truely pure factory stock.one truck is a shortbed 3/4 ton chevy i never seen any of them before from the factory.

limit straps.

set up your suspension with some limiting straps or poor boy a chain system on your truck. strap on each side to keep the suspension from dropping out all the way. if compressing are air bags legal inside coilsprings. also www.autofab.com sells some material to keep the suspension from compressing inside the coil spring. off road race truck stuff. works great for hard compression hits. thats not really your problem but autofab sells straps for many applications. catch you later.

Yeh, some people have welded up a ttb 50. You can do so, then cut off the center pivot joints.
