I'd suggest a notcher too lol it's a pain without it. In going to get one before I build a bumper...

Finished fabbing up my steps. Added a gusset at the end for some extra strength.

Hopefully I'll have them mounted on the truck tomorrow after work

Finally got both my steps installed. Once I remembered they are there and quit tripping over them on the way out of the truck it's not bad, I even use them getting in to help wear on the seat and the crotch of my jeans lol.
In 6'6" 300lbs and I can bounce on them and nice n sturdy!!

Mounting on the passenger side I cut some 3/8" Jose to cover the fuel return line where it meets the bracket.
It is spaced out about an inch from the frame in the front mount (I didnt realize the frame has a taper to it.)which works perfectly to go over the fuel line.

Looks really good. Adds a lot to the character of the truck.

Part 1 of the flatdeck conversion complete. Remove bed.
Gotta bring the bed home and bring the deck to work to install

That trailer looks like it has a super long tongue.
I like how a long trailer hauls though.

Ok. Definitly an illusion.

It's been 38c in Philidelphia a few times lately.
Usually around 36.5-37

Glad my work is controlled at 22c. So nice to work in there when it's upper 30s outside

I love project midnight updates. 2 questions: now that you have the bed off can you take a few photos of the crossmembers under and from top. I am wondering if it is worth it to take my bed off and treat mine, but not knowing the condition of the tops It's hard to decide, the bottoms look kind of crappy but if yours do to and it is just some bottom rust I might not bother. second question: does that trailer have ramps or a beavertail?
