Okay...we just got back from a Caribbean cruise...our first cruise ever...worst time we ever had on a vacation (and we vacation a LOT)...but that's a whole different thread...LOL
Anyway...I was so very surprised at the "size" of the vehicles on these relatively small islands...granted tourism and "moving" people is a large part of the economy on these otherwise small islands...I was very surprised to see an Excursion as a taxi on St. Thomas. The engine of choice on most of the taxi's were V10's as most of the chassis' were F350/450 dually chassis'
I was also surprised at how relatively "cheap" the 87 octane was on Puerto Rico...it was approximately $3.10/gallon!!!...I guess taxes on PR are different than mainland US?...hmmm...I did not see the cost for diesel though...if prices on the islands are similar to mainland with 87 vs diesel...the V10 choice sure makes sense just like it does here on the mainland... (okay...just poking fun at the PSD boys with the last comment...lighten up Francis...)
So...I was surprised by an Ex on St. Thomas...where's your place?
Oh yeah...have a blessed and healthy 2012 too!
Joe.

Ditto. Never thought I'd own one but the prospect of transporting 5 teenagers in a minivan just didn't work for me. Add in the cost of hotel and airfare for a vacation and the Ex towing a travel trailer makes total sense for our family. I drive it under 10K a year so my gas use/environmental impact is low.
