So I took my motor out and resealed everything luckily no more leaks now but when it was out I ovaled the holes in the motor mounts where it bolts to the frame in order to move the motor back about another inch. I only had 1/2 inch of clearance between the fan and rad before but now it fits great with lots of room on the back valve cover and the fan to radiator. So just a suggestion for anyone using these move the motor back more.

Thanks for the feedback. The ability to move the motor back more if wanted is what I'm trying to work on & why I'm looking for a highboy frame to mess with to do so. Luckily I had a call this past weekend that should help this situation

Unfortunately I am super busy currently so I'm not sure how fast I'll get around to messing with it, but this is on my radar for sure. Plus I'd also really like to see what it would take to fit these on a 78/79 but no promises as to how soon that will be figured out.

no luck at all unfortunately. Tons going on in life right now so I haven't even thought about it since my last post here in June.

How about clearing out your PM's Chase. You're maxed out. Can't even PM ya...

How about PM'ing me a price of those mounts shipped to 27704?
Thanks!

Chase last time i talked to you you were looking for someone to cut the plates. Also still interested in a set when you get around to making them!

Gettingwidit - your turn to check PM's... I sent you one 2 days ago saying I had gotten an email saying you tried to PM. I cleared out the inbox & made room. Now after seeing this I'm PMing you again with a price. That is IF I can find someone I like to cut them.

Yes still "working" on that. I use the term "working" loosely as with work & my now 1 year old time for this stuff is few & far between. I do have a member here who is setting up a fab shop & had just purchased a CNC plasma. He's interested in taking over where my other buddy left off. He's familiar with my mounts as he's got them on 2 trucks. We'll see how/where that goes.

Chase..
As I look at power options for my 78 4 x supercab options I wonder if the 78-79 mounts ever came to fruition..
thanks

Sorry for the way slow reply but been busy with life & haven't had time to sign on.

No, unfortunately the 78-79 mounts never went anywhere. Had a guy or 3 that were going to help me with checking fitment of the 73-77 mounts & see how close they came & modify from there, but nothing ever came to fruition on it.

On a side note - no more progress on finding a new guy to cut & bend the 73-77 mounts. Haven't had the time to chase that at all

So will you have to make your own motor mounts for Cummins on a 78 F-100??

2wd or 4wd? Did they even make 4wd F-100's??

On a side note - got a fellow FTEer cuttin motor mounts for me so they are available again.

Still no real luck on anything real for 78/79 but they should be pretty close & you may be able to use the highboy ones. Hoping someone may test it out & tell me.
