I just bought one from Oreily a few weeks ago. Second time I changed it. Wish I would of had the blue point pully holder. Much Much easier with a second set of hands to hold that POS pully holder I borrowed from O R. I did it by myself the first time and a buddy helped out the second time, but the fact I had to do it a second time in 2 years probably does not say much about the O R. pump I guess.

I just did mine in the parking lot at an Advance Auto a couple months ago. I bought their lifetime warranty unit for about $130. Toughest part was removing the fan clutch, but was otherwise a "not too bad" job. Haven't lost a single ounce of fluid since. I would have ordered from Clay as well, but I blew out the main seal around the shaft behind the fan clutch and was losing a stream of water as big as my little finger when I puled into the AA parking lot... it just could NOT wait, and since I was 2 hours from home, it just made sense to change it in the parking lot where I could borrow the tools I needed... only had to buy one socket extension, a flashlight, and a socket.

Hey, since you have an '01, changing the water pump is a good time to upgrade the coolant to a heavy duty Extended Life Coolant and coolant filter.

Any OAT ELC meeting Cat EC-1 specs will do.

I prefer Chevron Delo ELC.

New water pump is installed with new thermostat, belt, and extended life coolant with conditioner. Guess who leaked upon start up........... While reassembling it I put my hand on the alternator and it was locked solid. WHY GOD WHY. we took the alternator apart and some black plastic pieces fell out then it would spin. The thermostat manifold is who leaked. I oiled the o-ring and sanded the manifold but it still leaked. So we tore it back down and blue glued it also. I will check it in the morning when I juice her back up . Pray for her guys.

Mine is leaking too I believe. I noticed 3 spots on my driveway. I cralwled underneath and spotted some antifreeze. In the lower hose and looked up and saw some antifreeze on the dripping from the hose and the lower part of pump. Is it possible the gasket is leaking and the pump is still good? Would u go ahead and change pump if you are going to pull to replace gasket? I had system pressurized and nothing was found but I got a leak somewhere.
