Question About 79

Hello
I had to remove the running boards that were on there since new so I can fix some rust. I got to looking at the truck and am thinking it may look better with them off. What do you guys think on or off?
Thanks

Without....They don't call 'em "old man running boards" for nothing.

I'll add my two cents...leave 'em off. Looks a whole lot better.

The running boards on my truck didn't last 2 hours. I like them off.

Ah, come on! Apparently I'm the only one who likes them. Mine have kept the rust away and I don't mind the "grandpa styling". FWIW, the PO of my truck was a grandpa

How about nerf bars. A little less conspicuous, but still gives you a step.

ON , if you are going to use the truck on a regular basis and plan on doing a nice job repairing her and painting her, the running boards ar ea must. I've always had them on all my trucks but I left them off for 2 years after I painted it cause it looked nice. It only took 2 years of normal use to beat the paint off the rockers and door bottoms. Nerf bars help but noithin can beat a running board for protection. And you can get updated ones that don't look so OLD MAN .

I wanna thank all of you for replying all have good points. I think I will leave them off for now and keep them so I have the option of puting them on later.
Thanks again
