Oil Leaking Bad

I didn't know where to post this and really have nowhere else to turn so since I have a 2010 F-150 I decided to post it here even though the vehicle isn't a Ford . Hopefully someone can identify this.

I have 1999 Toyota Tercel and it has a bad oil leak at what I think is the Coolant Temp Sensor. Oil leaks from underneath and not from where you see a little bit of oil in the picture.

looks like it's an oil sending unit, not a temp sensor. It's for sensing oil pressure and by the looks of it, it appears to be shot.

Thanks very much, it is still working because I get no light coming on for the oil but it isn't working in the sense that it is leaking. It's probably leaking at the threads where I can't see. I much appreciate the help.

If it is unplugged (as shown) no light will come on. same as if it is "dead" as i suspect it is.

looks to me that it is leaking through the body. the pic shows a drop of oil inside the where the electrical connector plugs in.

assuming you have another ride, take it out and go to the store and ask for an oil pressure sender and see if it looks the same, if it is, that's your ticket. Judging by the goofy shape of the body, i'd say Oil pressure sending unit. They make a special socket for them, but i don't think i've ever need it, but it is available if you should need.

realistically, this is probably a $15 and 10 minute fix.

I might suggest going to the dealer, most of the parts stores are selling junk. My exploder is on its 3rd or 4th Oil Pressure Sending Unit. all of which were bought at parts stores (against my direct request last time).

good luck!

What endded that trucks life was some kid more interested in his cellphone more than the road.
