Heater box needed - 1950

I need a heater box for my 1950 pickup. I have seen a lot of new aftermarket universal heaters at various suppliers but I would like to stay with something more original. Attached are the pictures of the controls. It looks like the ducts and most of the parts including the core are available but I need the box. Does anybody have one?

heater box

In one of my mid fifties parts trucks there is an earlier model Ford heater that was jerry rigged install. It has the Magic Aire emblem on it and it may have come out of a car and I don't know if the early car and truck Magic Aire boxes are the same. If you could measure and describe your old box, I could see if it is the one you need.

You need to look up Denny. His handle on this board is firstrider. He deals with a lot of original and restored Magic Air heater parts. There is no doubt that he'll have what you need. Send him a PM!

I just sent him a message. Magic Aire was an aftermarket part was it not?

Nope! Magic Air was the name Ford used for most of their factory fresh air heaters through the 50's.

Magic Air was Ford's name brand heater. It was an option for trucks and cars, as well as being different construction for cars and trucks. It had a fresh air intake, while other Ford and non-Ford heaters did not.

My 52 had an Arvir, which I know nothing about except that the fan works. I am not going to use it, so if it is something you want I will send it to you if you pay the shipping.

Thanks for the offer topmoo. I think that I have found a couple with the Ford script on them. I'll keep you in mind if they don't work out.

Smile Heater box inside

Jeff,
The heater box looks good on the inside too. The core looks almost brand new as does the pan it sits on. Not bad for a box built May 5, 1949 according to the markings.
