Missing data spec label on door post; 1988 F150 4X4 C6 trans

Just bought this truck at auction; AutoCheck shows clean record back more than ten years, but instead of the data spec label on the door post there is a "Reassigned VIN" with a Texas ID number. The VIN describes the truck as it appears to me and as it looks on the AutoCheck.com history report. It shows almost annual registration back to 1993, but there is a gap between 1993 in a Texas dealer inventory, and the "shipped to dealer" date in 9/1987. The VIN plate on the dashboard has been X-ed out, but that number was assigned to an 82 F250 Regular cab 2WD. How could that be, other than the plate being transplanted from an 82 vehicle? The instruments and dash are all correct for the '88 model year.

But all that aside, I have no clue as to what the correct tire pressures, drivetrain components and specs are. Can someone with an 88 F150 4X4 similar to mine tell me what those specs should be? The Ford web site is useless - no VINs before 2000, and it just tells me to look at the (missing) label. Also there is no diagram label showing the vacuum line arrangement under the hood.

The paint is too good to be original- I assume the labels were removed for the repainting. Oh, the VIN assembly sequence numbers are 00630. The other codes are correct for the engine (5.8L) and body style (SuperCab). I am assuming the C6 transmission because it is 3 speed, no OD.

Sounds like a totaled or salvage title. You can petition for a new VIN (to get rid if the salvage title) I believe if it meets certain requirements.

There is a website (name escapes my memory right now) that can/will make you new vin stickers if you want. I wanna guess (Marti.com?) Check with the 73-79 guys they are who first showed me.

I suspect that is what happened- the "Reassigned VIN" sticker was issued by the State of Texas, with their tracking number. But if that is so, why doesn't the AutoCheck.com report show that? I assume a Carfax report would show the same information as AutoCheck.
