5.4L coil pack (coil over plug)
Hello club FTE. members.............
Im currently replacing my plugs boots springs and Ect.
What I want to know is if there is a specific resistance (Ohms) rating or a range that a good or acceptable coil should be at ?
I have checked 4 of the 8 at room temp. and all read 7 Ohms but does ANYBODY know specificly the acceptable number ?
Thank you..................Jc.
Thats checking from pin to pin on the connector btw...

Typically and in my experience with a known bad COP checking DC resistance isn't a reliable indication of anything. I've had known bad COP's check out just fine with a DVM.
The best way to test is either in operation---you'll notice a misfire or using sophisticated electronic diagnostic tools. While the vehicle is running carefully disconnect each COP from the wire harness to see if a noticeable change happens---if not the COP is good.
