2012 F150 Paint Defect!!!!!!!!!!
#196
ACTUALLY..............
It too has a paint defect!!!! Same place even!
This one however is not severe in nature and I did not have the option of waiting for another 2 months to get a new one. If it was severe....I would haved refused shipment!!!
this one is on both roof seams....just like the f150......but on the f350 it has very deep sharp corner on both seams....the color coat powder did not make it completely down into the corner. it left a 1/16 wide "speckeled" area the entire length of the roof, both side. You can not see it until you stand on the door frame and look at the seams.
I talked to the body shop mngr.....he did not care either way but said if it was his truck....hed leave it alone. Being in manufacturing myself and doing enough paint in my days.....I reluctantly agreed......as the only things to do was refuse the truck or have the roof stripped and repainted! Option one was out due to the trade in on the F150 and no other truck to drive for 2 months for a new one (which my luck would come in with a worse paint job) and the 2nd was just simply out of the question.
I will wax it very well to make sure it is sealed until the 3yr mark on the warranty....then I will have my friend (body guy) mask off either side of the 1/16" strip and spray on the touchup paint and clear. buff and wax ......fixed for the next 10 years!
I sure have bad luck!
But I love the truck! get 18.9 Mpg and I LOVE that sound!!!!!!!
