05 5.4 valvetrain noise

I'm working on an 05 f250 with the 3v 5.4. It makes a valvetrain tick just like the noisy cam phasers on my own 05, but a bit louder. It also doesn't go away above 1200rpm, and it doesn't get louder as the engine gets warmer.

I've isolated the noise to the passenger side head with a stethoscope, and it sounds a lot like a noisy lifter(s) to me; it's a mechanical noise, not a banging/knocking noise.

Is there anything I should check to verify this assumption?

Thanks

TTT. Any chance this could be moved to the SD forum where I may get more views? Thank you.
