Starting problems...On Christmas day...UGHHHH lol
Well first off Merry Christmas everyone!!!
But unfortunatley I just had an issue with starting my truck.
It's a 78' with a 400 swapped in, went to start it and the first crank the starter didn't really give it enough to get going, tried it again and then the starter solenoid got stuck, turned the key off and she kept cranking...
Disconnected the starter wire from the solenoid and then reconnected it, jumped it with another battery and boom, we had her running...
Can anyone tell me what the hell happened? lol The solenoid wasn't loose, but after disconnecting and reconnecting it (along with a charge of the battery, because the starter drained it) she started no problem. Anyone have any idea whats wrong? (P.S. Sorry I come to you guys with all my problems, if it's not one thing it's the other, hopefully I'll be trouble free soon...)
EDIT: Could it be a bad ignition switch?

The thing is right now she starts right up, I don't get it...lol
We're most likely going to Jeff's Bronco Graveyard tomorrow to buy a new solenoid and ignition switch...
The reason I don't think its the solenoid is because I disconnected the wire closer to the front of the truck ("S" post I think) and the starter quit cranking and didn't start cranking when it was reconnected...

+1. My '79 Bronco would do the same thing causing the starter to stay engaged thus killing the battery. After I would jump it I had no problems for a day or so, then it would start the same crap all over. New solenoid fixed it.
