What is a 4 bolt FE block worth ?

I have a 352 cid C4AE block with the webbing for 4 bolt mains . I have the center 4 bolt main and three #2/#4 main caps .

I have not had the block ultrasound checked and it has not been machined for the side bolts , of course it has not been line bore either .

I see a few 406 / 428 4 bolt motors made from this set up and was planing on doing something along this line or at least a 390 / 410 since the block is still 4.000" with no noticeable ring groove .

I am getting to the point that I like eating better than hot rodding and may sell the FE stuff and use the 289 crank in a 5.0 roller block for my 64 fairlane project .

I have been out of the loop for a while and was just curious about the FE value .

Thank in advance for any info/opinions - Ken.

DeepRoots is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I've got one of those C4AE 390 standard bore block with the cross bolt bosses and main webbing.
I'd value it at $200-$250
I've also got a D4TE block that has roughly the same bottom end, standard bore but obviously with different engine mounting provisions.
I was keeping them around for future stroker platforms.

for a 352 block? I personally would value it as scrap metal prices, so $20?

Good luck!
Drew

Ha ! I see you aren't a 352 fan , neither is my Dad .

I really need to have the block sonic tested but I would think it would easily go standard 390 of 4.050 . I have a boring bar and any V8 block ready to go is $250 .

I would probably be better off selling the caps on ebay , as I have seen them go for $100 each . I would not have guessed that much but I guess the FE guys are nuts .

Your 390 block should easily double that price in a few years. Around here scrap iron was selling for .12 a pound . There has been a run on those mid 70's pick ups (Ford & Chevys) since the scrap yards are paying $400+ regardless of the number of dents .

Just thought I would see if anyone had any real time experience with the subject - Ken .
