Thanks for the input. Is your truck dual rear wheels or single, that's a lot of weight.

Transmission issues on 2004 f350 diesel

Ok in my 2004 f350 4x4 6.0L my transmission is acting weird 1-3 shifts fine but I don't have 4th or overdrive and when I put it in reverse it shutters back and forth. What could be my problem with my truck

Jay: I think there is just something cool about a manual. That said, you'll wish you had a Torqshift if you get in a mess of stop and go traffic towing your new rig. One of my favorite trucks was an F250HD standard cab 4x4 long bed with manual everything, 4.10s, limited slip, 460, unstoppable...

For me, I'd buy it just as much for sentimental reasons as getting a great one-owner truck with known maintenance and history. My Dad is getting up there and can't drive -- I bought his little Toyota pick up that had sat in his garage for a couple years, and now drive it a lot. Every time I get in it I think of him, and that will be more so when he's gone...

For me that little truck is priceless...

It would be nice to know if he ever bought the truck, it's been 5 years ago!

I'm sorry I just had to! Look at how many views it's had too!

But don't feel like the Lone Ranger, I've done it too with like a 10 page thread, reading with such intensity trying to figure out the problem only to discover it was 4 years old!

It's Brenda's first post too!

Manuals not so much for me, a have around 3'000'000 million miles driving manuals, 😳. No mistakes on the 0's ether! Spent 20 years running to California in a truck.

Brenda, you should start a new thread for your issue. Also clarify if it's an automatic or manual.

I've shifted a zf a couple times. Lol. Great transmission. I only use oem clutches,, which are actually luk brand. I have used Mobil 1 full syn atf every 100k. I also put that atf in the transfer case every 100k. Since we aren't rolling like we used to I might drop to 50k increments.

I just read through the entire thread too. I guess I had April Fools day early, but it was a good read.

I REALLY like manual transmissions. I REALLY like manual transmissions behind a diesel. We ran a test on a Dodge Cummins with a manual at TRC years ago and I feel in love with the combo, of course not the wrapping.

Both of my Powerstrokes have been autos so if needed my wife could drive, but normally she refuses to get behind the wheel. But I wish I had ordered out the manual.

I like manuals. I even tested an 05 6.0 a 6 speed. But I wanted a crewcab. I am very impressed with the Torqshift transmission. I really like it.
