FORD COE HAULER PROJECT RAT ROD

Give that a week and I'll bet it'll be a lot cheaper.

I am going to shoot this thread to a friend of mine who has been looking hard for a COE project. This may be more of a project than he wants though...I have no idea.

Fordman where are you at in IN? The truck in North Judson doesn't look bad. I am thinking about it. I have found what appears to be cleaner bodies for $1500 but quite a bit farther away. Weighing out transport costs vs. repair costs. I got my bump out of GA as it was less money to make the trip than to try to fix an IN truck (unless I got lucky on the IN truck)

I am in the South Bend area. The guy that would be interested is from the Chicago area. I doubt he is on here...but I could easily be prooven wrong. He wants to make a car hauler. I have sent him probably 3 or 4 decent deals that I have found online over the past few months...the best one being a local F-1 that is up for sale, but I am afraid the F-1 is a little light weight for what he wants.

I grew up in the South Bend, Mishawaka area. Right before moving down here (about 10 yrs ago) I was living out in Granger. I think if I were building a car hauler with an old body I would be using just that. The body. I would search out a later model chassis. Simply a matter of parts availability.

Ok going back some years now but isn't that Dragoon Trail that runs through there? When I moved back up to IN from TX I lived just down the road from you near the corner of Main the road that runs in front of GW Park (the one I think is Dragoon Tr). I had a '37 Chevrolet SWB pickup back then. Young with children so I built with what I had. Made many a Chevrolet fan unhappy with that truck. I put a Plymouth 318 with an auto in it with a 9" rear.
