starter?

My 99 Super duty is slow starting everything has been replaced so it has to be the oem starter. I have seen where many people are saying go with the DB starters. My question is what is the difference between Summit powermaster high torque starter, the db starter, and the oem 6.0 starter. The reason the 6.0 starter is on here if people didn't know it will fit and work on the 7.3, and it is a gear reduction starter which equals higher torque. Anyone know the difference between between between the three?

DB used to be offer a great product, but then switched to all MIC stuff and the quality went down and the failures went up. You can cross them off your list. Now you're down to just 2 choices.

I thought the super duty starter was a gear reduction starter too? What other differences is there in the 6.0 starter?

The oem 6.0 is two bolt starter and it will spin a 7.3 alot better than a oem 7.3 starter that is about all I know.

My DB sold, Chinese made, denso starter slowed to the point of not working. Bought a Mitsubishi from a local shop and installed Friday. I recommend not using the cheap Chinese knock offs, lasted about 2 years. The Mitsubishi spins the engine fast, impressed. The local shop is rebuilding the denso and assures me when finished it will outlast any other starter on the market. Hopefully it will set on a shelf in the shop and I won't need to swap again.

Mark, which Mitsu number starter did you get? There are two from which to choose.

If your starter is dying, then get it rebuilt.
