Newbe 460 question

Did ford ever convert the 460 engine to a roller cam and what year did that setup become stock?

Nope. Ford never put a roller cam in the 460. I wish they did though.
You can add a roller cam if you'd like, just get the h-bar type lifters and you're done.

Are you sure? I would think that if the cam lobes are profiled for the non roller lifter that you would end up with a lifter that wanted to torque side to side and would subsequently fail.

Realize the Compcams or others probably has a roller for the 460. Most of those are built for their high performance features.
I would be looking for a low performance, high low end torque roller cam.
Comp would probably grind one but I am not rolling in $$$.

Aaah.... Add a roller cam.
You can't Really use roller lifters on a flat tappet cam cause your duration would be way less.
I said add h-bar lifters and your done because some people were thinking (I'm sure) that you may have to add all the crap like the 302-351 to get roller lifters, and it's really limited to what roller lifters are available for the 460.
