WTF is wrong with my truck???? Wont go over 45 MPH???

About a month ago I bought a 2008 F350 4x4 crew cab long bed Lariat with the 6.4 diesel.

I've had the truck for about 3,000 miles, without any issue, and was driving it home night and it lacked serious power. I was literally flooring the truck and I could hear the engine roar but it would not go over 35 or 45 MPH.

Before tonight the truck had crazy amounts of power and was incredibly fast. But tonight I took it home and the truck struggled to maintain 60mph. I was not towing and the bed was empty.

Currently the truck has almost 89k miles. It's in mint condition with no problems that I'm aware of until tonight. NO POWER what so ever. I floored the peddle for two straight minutes and it wouldn't even climb over 55 mph.

All I could hear was the engine roaring and surging as it normally does but there was no go and no omphh....

WTF?

You are in limp mode to protect the powertrain. That could be for a number of reasons.

No check engine light or wrench displayed?

You will need to take it in and have it read if you don't have a code reader.

Check all fluids beforehand.

I agree with Scott, this has to get checked out by a dealer. Are you stock or have you tuned it?

You're fortunately within your 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, so the problem won't be yours to pay for.

I agree with Scott as well. You, on the other hand, are in error. These trucks do not carry a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. The 100,000 mile warranty is engine only. So if his problem is engine related he's in tall cotton.

Not knowing where he's from, my guess is this time of year that he needs to change fuel filters and use a diesel antigel. This is only a guess, however. Might help too, if he cleaned up his acronyms!

You're right about the warranty, that's what I get for posting in a hurry!

When mine did just that it was a bad turbo, turning it off brought it out of the power issue but the cruise never worked, kind of a weird side effect and I never had a wrench or CEL of any kind. Either way take it in there will surely be a code stored.

We just had an '08 F350 ambulance do this two weeks ago. The unit would not boost at all, but if you gradually started off in the truck, it would gain speed like a snail, but would reach 50 maybe. You could put it in neutral and rev it as high as you wanted it to, but couldn't get it to do it in drive. No boost. Replaced all 3 sensors for the turbo and she is up and running wild again. The reason for all 3 was the shop couldn't differentiate which sensor and Ford dealer was really backed up and the truck was needed, so all 3 were replaced. Which one was bad is a crap shoot.
