new toys

well ...i'm ecstatic...just picked up a couple of new projects...1974 f250 crew cab 4x4 granny low 4 sp 60/60...pulled the 390 out for my sons 1970 f100 and will be dropping my 460 from my van in it this winter...

and ...a 77 f250 single cab 400 c6 70/60...ill be dropping my stroked 390 from the rusty 73...

i thought that ford only put dana 70s in f350s...but the dude swears its a 70....i bought it sight unseen(price was to good to pass up)...

fun fun fun...
so ...i'm looking for a little info on the crew...its a non power steering rig...i have a ps set up under the rusty 73 1/2 ton 4x4(dana 44)...anyone do this swap? is it even doable?...

Congrats on the new additions.

There are several threads about your PS conversion. A search will yield all the reading you can stand. Post some pics of your trucks.

yeah been searching off and on for a day or two...site has been taking longer than usual to reload so i got a little frustrated ....could be on my end....then of course there is the ever present problem of getting totally distracted with other subjects that pop up on the site, all of which are interesting to me ....so....both rigs might be rusted to the ground before i can manage to focus long enough to find what i'm looking for...

Cool trucks...79 looks pretty good but that fuel filler is lost. (if that is what it is)
Rear bumper is pretty cool also.

You can check out my build thread (1973 restoration) around page 3-4 for the PS setup. Although many have done a better job than me.

i assume you meant the 69...yeah its kinda cool..yes,that is a missing fuel door..its a 2 wheel drive that a father son team swapped onto a 4x4 frame..apparently they put a ton of work into it and the kid drove it to school for a few weeks and didn't like it because it had no power steering(puss)...so he sold it to me and bought a little rice grinder...(fool)...to quote my dad..."kids today"...hm...i cant seem to get pics to post
