E85

I was courious if anyone was currently running E85 in their Expy's? There is a Krogers locally that has if for 60 cents cheaper than regular. Just wanting to get some opionions if you think the 60 cent difference will justify the lower fuel econmy.

Thanks

figure 2-5 mpg hit when using E-85

not to mention the higher maintenance interval when running it. You are supposed to change the oil at the "Extreme" maintenance interval with E85

when you crunch the #'s, you will find that running E-85 is a losing proposition. It just doesn't work out until the crap is $1.00 / gallon cheaper than 87 octane.

Thanks for the insight on this. I ran 1 tank of the stuff about a year ago and think I got about 3-4 mpg less. I did not think about the "Extreme" maintenance side of it. I think I will just stick to the regular stuff for now. btw, I should have filled up yesterday before the 30 cent increase for the holiday. Oh well.

Thanks again!!

no problem...I remember in my old F-150 driving home in the snow we were getting 500 miles to a tank of gas (30 gallon tank @ 20 mpg).

I bought E85 in Denver because it was so much cheaper and wanted to see how my Duel Fuel truck would handle...I barely got 250 miles/tank with it
