best winter tires

That depends if you plan on changing out each spring and fall. Doing that, you can use a more aggresive and softer compound for the winter. Not changing with the season's, a compromise will be needed for noise, mileage, road manners and traction. As far as a year round compromise, I personally haven't found anything better than BFG A/T's. Go good on packed snow or up to about 12", and least mileage I ever got out of a set was over 40K miles. Not the best in mud though.

I've had good luck with Firestone Winterforce tires. Don't know if they're available in your size though. They are studdable and their performance on ice without studs is only fair but in snow they rock.
I've also used Blizzaks and for the money I'd buy the Winterforce. I'm sure there are others that are good too.
These are winter only tires and would need to be swapped out in the spring but I've used them on Mustangs and 4x2 trucks and they make all the difference in the world for a RWD vehicle in snow. Ground clearance is the only real issue and for me that's only a real issue with the Mustangs.

Are you in an area of substantial snowfall? If so go for a snow tire, just keep in mind that you will need to change them over every 6 months or so, which could add up over time. If you do decide on snows spend a little more on a second set of wheels to put them on. If you dont get a lot of snow just an occasional snowfall than an all season will be fine.
