The other place to check out is downtown La Mesa - should start up in another month or so. It's a little more organized - I was down there visiting my folks last year. Very cool (still can't figure out why I moved up to Seattle..... oh well....).
I'm planning on driving my Bronco down at Xmas and visiting for a couple of weeks. That way I can pick up my AutoFab drop-center fiberglass hood (won't have to pay for shipping!) and get out to Glamis or Ocotillo and run some dunes.
As far as I know - Schnieder Cams has their main factory here still, and just about any FORD grind is available off the shelf for very reasonable rates. (Even duplicates of Edelbrock spec's)
J Biddle American (primarily FORD) is still headquartered here also, and has two locations. (JBA RACING)
And Border Parts is still out at Bancroft Drive by highway 94, across from the elementary school I once went to...
There's a lot of good stuff here - provided you are NOT a "NATIVE" !
(JAB! DIG! TWIST!)
- Yeah, I emigrated from California!
Dang right I did.
