6.4 Inspections/Emissions

hey guys ... i just picked up an 08 f350 6.4 CC.....i had a 6.0 previously ( well i still have it and am trying to sell it) but i am wondering what the inspection sticker restrictions are as far as the DPF is concerned.... can i remove the dpf all together?... or is it required for our inspections...i would really like to remove it and program the truck to get better fuel mileage but like i say i am unaware of what our state will allow!!...any input is much appreciated...thanks m*******s!!

I am not sure about it either, but I would guess it is treated like a catalytic converter..

Here is inspection info from the states website

I talked to two different licensed inspectors...neither knew what the DPF was...both thought that as long as removal didn't trigger a CEL or make the exhaust louder...you should be OK.

thanks guys....so i wonder if the dpf is basically a visual inspection like a cat....and i wonder if you can bring the truck in while it is tuned or if u have to reprogram to stock in order to pass inspection....hmmm ...ill see if i can get these answers one way or another... if i find anything out ill let u all know!
