Driver Controlled Exhaust for the F series?

Some of us like LOUD exhaust--but don't want to be loud at all times.

Has anyone considered DCE?

I remember this on GTOs back in the 60's.

Nice...I think that Summit carries some that function just from the gas pedal pressure.

I remember back in the day there was a header system that let you run straight headers or dual exhaust. You had to crawl under and swap a plate on each side, it wasn't any thing near that simple.Nice car by the way.

That is a nice idea and a VERY rare option on the old GTOs. I know that some states will not pass a vehicles ibspetuon if it has ANY type of muffler bypass. Be it either electrical or mechanical.

They do, they're called cut-outs...

Manual (in cab)

Electric

These, when used with something like this can be used to bypass the exhaust from any point in the system, and I'd think you could "y" it back into the system after the muffler if you wanted.

Yeah-I was wondering about the State laws also. But I think that most State laws outlaw cutouts and may not outlaw these type of driver adjustable mufflers. I will ask some of my local muffler shops and see whay they say about this.

I believe that the Z06 Corvettes have a similar system on their mufflers stock. But I believe their stock mufflers open up electronically and it is based on throttle position.

But this DCE/VOE aren't cutouts. The exhaust still is routed thru the mufflers.

I got that. You could probably run a set of glass packs and use two sets of valves. I really doubt if there's a good substitute for those mufflers, and I doubt if a GM muffler will sound very good on a Ford.
