Yeah I don't know what the springs weigh, but generally I can ship things really cheap through our corporate FedEx account at work. I have shipped some BIG stuff for around $10, but I know FedEx charges by weight. I know the truck had 260k miles on it but it rode and drove nice when I drove it home and started stripping it. The frame and undercarriage were surprisingly clean for an OH truck. I am guessing it was "imported" form somewhere that didn't use road salt. No skin off my back if you don't want them, but if you do, send me a PM and we can figure out the details. I will pull them this weekend if you want them. I'd just rather see them go to someone who can use them than to scrap them.

Thank you for the offer but I think we will stick with the new rear springs and adress the front.

Sounds like a blast and nothing wrong with 5 trucks.

No problem. I would kinda hate to see you put used springs on a nice clean shiny truck like that anyway. The progress looks really great.

Well Mason passed his driver test last week and has been tooling around in his new wheels and getting really good at pulling gears. We put a new set of stock size Kelly Safari tires last week and then today we put in a pair of Moog cc844 f250 coils and some Pro Comp es1000 shocks. We are really happy with the how these springs leveled out the truck as the new rear leafs we installed really lifted the back end up. Tomorrow it goes to the alignment shop to get that all squared away. Keeping my fingers crossed the rest of the front suspension in fair to good condition.

Here are some pictures

Really hoping we can go awhile now without a bunch more $$. This spring we will do cap rotor, plug wires, plugs and coil. Then try advancing the timing some per the 6 liter tune up.

That's sitting just about perfect, now. Nice work!

Some of my fondest father/son memories come from wrenching on my first vehicle (71 F100 POS) with my dad. Glad to see you guys are having so much fun with it.

The overall height looks great on Mason's truck!

Keep up the good work!

The truck looks great! Good luck with the alignment shop, that's always a tense moment with these older trucks and all the bushings in that front end.

This is really kinda funny because I have a lot of the same memories, but mine was a '70 F100. The truck was older (by about 10 years) than I was. Wish I still had that truck.

Hey Boss,
Truck looks fantastic!
What are your impressions on the ProComp shocks?
They are a nicely inexpensive shock, but I haven't seen any real world reviews on them.

No impression on the shocks yet, in fact I have not driven the truck since they went in yesterday. I am concerned they are on the short side as I ordered stock ride height, should have ordered next size up. The CC844's really picked up the front end, a full 2" I would say. I ordered the Pro Comp because they were pretty cheap, $58 for two from JC Whitney and free shipping promo.

I will update after the alignment shop. Thanks for all the compliments and yes he is a lucky kid who about 90% of the time deserves it.

Truck looks great. Gives me inspriation as i clean mine up. Great father and son project. As a few mentioned there memorys with there father wrenching, well I havnt been that lucky and I am still a young man, but i have enjoyed wrenching with my father in law helping him build his 48 f1 pickup.
