Oh, they press together nicely when you reassemble by simply tightening the bolt.

After 10 yrs my vice grips still work great; it pays to buy the good ****.
3 of mine came out fairly easy, one was a real ********er and had to beat hell out of it with a hammer. The 2 cones mushroom together and can be stubborn to unlock

Are you talking about the mounts or the vicegrips?

I threaded the bolt though the top of the radiator support mount on my truck and beat it with a hammer and the nut on the bottom broke away from the washer.
